Legal/Regulatory Requirements
- For local numbers, an address anywhere in Italy is required. Individual end-users are required to submit name, address, birth location, birth date, nationality, and tax code along with a copy of a government-issued ID before a number can be activated. Business end-users are required to submit name, address, birth location, birth date, nationality, and tax code of an authorized representative along with a copy of a government-issued ID. The name and address of the company along with the VAT number is also required before a number can be activated.
- For toll-free numbers, a global address of the end-user (place of residence/business) is required. Individual end-users are required to submit name, address, birth location, birth date, nationality, and tax code along with a copy of a government-issued ID before a number can be activated. Business end-users are required to submit name, address, birth location, birth date, nationality, and tax code of an authorized representative along with a copy of a government-issued ID. The name and address of the company along with the VAT number is also required before a number can be activated.
- Customers or end-users conducting call center activities must be notified/registered operators with the local regulator.
Service Restrictions
- Toll-free numbers are reachable from the following mobile networks: TIM, Wind, 3, Vodafone, Fastweb. They are reachable from the following fixed networks: TI, Vodafone Fix, Tiscali, Wind, Fastweb.
- 199 numbers are reachable from Italy only.
- Inbound SMS to an Italy DID is not supported.
- Outbound SMS from an Italy DID is supported.
